    In the past, I always thought of myself as a bookworm and exercise wasn't a regular part of my life. It wasn't until I injured my back and dealt with debilitating pain, that I knew I needed to take better care of my body. I wanted to find a fitness coach who would understand my experience as a queer, non-binary person. Landyn was the perfect fit.

    Landyn gave me the encouragement and accountability I needed to make exercise a regular part of my life. As a busy parent and grad student, it was so helpful to have them create an individualized plan that I could fit into my packed schedule.

    With their help, not only did my back pain go away, but I was able to play more with my kids and even completed a 10K Tough Mudder with the coolest queer and trans team! Landyn pushed me to work harder than I knew I could, while also teaching me to listen to my body.

    If I could go back in time and tell myself that going to the gym would be one of my favorite parts of the week I wouldn't believe it! I'm so proud to see how much my physical and mental health have improved and I can't wait to keep growing!

    I’ve always experienced body dysphoria, surprise, surprise, haha. I’ve started and stopped so many diets and plans over the years, but getting top surgery pushed me to finally take my fitness seriously. That’s when I reached out to Landyn.

    Landyn understood my goals right away and had plenty of experience with body recomposition which is what I wanted to do to build up my chest post-top surgery. I’m also REALLY busy with work and they were able to meet me where I was at. Normally, my busy work and travel schedule would derail me and I’d fall off the bandwagon again, but they encouraged me again and again to keep going to the gym even if it was 1 day a week. 

    Through it all I learned that no matter what, consistency—even if imperfect—is key. As corny as it sounds, the thought of my younger self seeing me now makes me want to cry! I thought I’d always feel uncomfortable and awkward in my body, but here we are. I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to get to this point without Landyn’s help and I can’t wait to see what else we unlock together.

    When I first started training with Landyn, I was skeptical about my ability to be consistent with any sort of workout plan. Playing sports all through school taught me that any sort of “conditioning” was a punishment. Because of those experiences, I HATED working out.

    Landyn helped change the way I related to food and fitness. Before I started training with Landyn, I was very inconsistent with my workout routine and never really fueled my body in ways that never kept me full or satisfied.

    After working with Landyn for three months, my body and my relationship to my body changed! I was surprised by my results and couldn’t believe how my body had transformed. I also completely look at food in a more positive way. I have never felt better about how I look in the mirror.

    The approach and things I learned have gone beyond a quick fix or a fad trend. I feel like I have gained skills and knowledge to better take care of myself for the rest of my life. I also love the ease and accessibility of the Training app. It has been so helpful for workouts and takes a lot of the guessing out with the previous sessions stats, easy log, examples, rest timers, and the end check in about how the workout went.

    I finally wanted to invest in myself because I wanted to love what I saw in the mirror, I wanted to ease my gender dysphoria and start a lifestyle that I’ve never experienced.

    My husband also decided to start this new journey with me and together we have been able to learn new things, watch each other meet goals, and overall see improvement in our health and wellness.

    Landyn has been great working and communicating with us as a unit, but also on an individual basis. While we both had the goal to bring fitness into our lives, we still have our individual needs, history, barriers, and feelings about our bodies and I feel like Landyn has listened and taken all that into account. The program also taught us so much about nutrition and we have been implementing new behaviors and putting more thought into our grocery lists. It truly feels like night and day with how much we have been able to change and learn.

    I’ve lived with constant chronic pain for over 12 years, I had given up on fitness and exercise because of it until a couple of years ago, and prior to my condition, I had an eating disorder. 

    Landyn took my goals and my fears seriously. They set me up with a plan that wouldn't count calories. At first, I had a ton of self-doubt, and was in my head a lot.

    But after a short time, I could feel the difference. I was more energetic thanks to veggies and complex carbs, and my workouts were progressing way faster than before. My form and posture improved, and little by little my clothes started fitting me differently. 

    My relationship with food has improved a lot. I've laid a foundation of flavorful nutritious food, so ice cream isn't some guilt-ridden “fuck-my-body” expression of my anger at my disabled, Trans body. It's just a pleasurable addition to the loads of veggies and chicken I'm eating.

    I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Landyn. When the COVID outbreak put a halt to my boxing training, I sought out Landyn’s help to “maintain” my conditioning until I could return to the ring.

    At 31 I’m feeling the best and most stable in my body I’ve ever felt.

    Lifting has given me so much more than I could have expected. It’s allowed me to really, truly love my chest for the first time. After surgery complications and a revision I was left with some deflation under my right pec, and a lot of depression. I’m genuinely amazed to see how much lifting has already improved things so far.

    What’s more is lifting has become a form of practicing mindfulness.     I came into the experience with zero knowledge or experience, having ignored my body my whole life. As I creep further into middle age, I’ve become increasingly aware of how important it is to take care of my body and avoid injuries.

    Working with Landyn truly changed how I viewed myself and my relationship with exercise.

    Personally, the anxiety that I face as a larger person is that I don’t feel like I deserve to take up space because I’m not “good” or “fit” enough to be working out. Landyn created an environment where all of that went out of the window. If a particular move was not accessible, we adjusted, if I was experiencing pain such as cramps, we worked on relieving that. Landyn always asked me questions showing that they really cared for me and my well-being.

    Through my love of the outdoors, I had been introduced to the sport of rock climbing, but never in a million years did I think I’d be able to partake. It seemed like the most unattainable goal. After a few months of working with Landyn, I had enough courage to not only walk into my first climbing gym ever, but do it completely alone.     I originally started lifting with Landyn in preparation for Top Surgery. I wanted my body to be as strong and healthy as possible for a speedy recovery.

    What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with exercising and to build a new hobby that brings me so much euphoria. Growing up, I have always been active and involved in sports and as I got older and lost touch with those activities. I began to feel more and more dysphoria and insecurities in my body.     Just six months ago, I was feeling insecure – I had completely lost my confidence and my body dysmorphia had just become all-consuming. I was looking for a way to feel better in my clothes, and I thought the key was just losing some weight.
